Focused ultrasound treatment of methicilin resistant Staphylococcus aureus induced abscesses: pre-clinical study

چکیده
Background/introduction Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a major nosocomial pathogen that particularly threatens immunocompromised patients who are prone to develop infections that are less and less responsive to regular treatments. Moreover, MRSA can cause abscesses that are difficult to treat. Because of its capability to induce a rise of temperature at a very precise location and the known sensitivity to heat of bacteria, FUS can allow for a localized treatment for MRSA-induced abscesses.

Epidemiologic profile of Staphylococcus aureus-methicilin resistant (MRSA) bacterium in hospital-acquired-infection in neonatal-intensive-care-unit (ICU) from -2000 to 2010 analysis in general hospital
Results 31 strains of Staphylococcus sp were identified in some hospital-acquired-infections. 46.7% of Staphylococcus aureus were methicilin resistant. Bloodstream infection (BSI) was the most prevalent site of infection of MRSA (40%) as well as for methicilin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) (62.5%). Symptoms of infection had began as early as 8.5 days and as late as 11 days (average tim...
متن کاملPrevalence of clindamycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus induced by macrolide resistance
Introduction: Since the incidence of various infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus increases, the use of effective antibiotics such as clindamycin has been growing to treat the systemic and local infections caused by such organisms. Antibiotic-resistant species are emerging and spreading in today's communities due to misuse of antibiotics and incomplete treatment, turning into a serious ch...
متن کاملA case report of hepatic abscesses with soft tissue infection caused by methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus in a young child
RATIONALE Pyogenic hepatic abscess in children is a rare clinical condition. Hepatic abscesses caused by methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus are extremely rare. PATIENT CONCERNS A 6-year-old boy was referred to a tertiary children's hospital for a 6-day history of right lower abdominal pain and fever. Radiographic findings showed hepatic abscesses and soft tissue abscesses around the ...
متن کاملStaphylococcus Aureus: an overview for Methicillin-resistant
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a bacterium responsible for several difficult-to-treat infections in humans. MRSA is any strain of Staphylococcus aureus that has developed, through the process of natural selection, resistance to betalactam antibiotics .The appearance of (MRSA) strains has created serious therapeutical problems. In this article, we present an overview of th...
متن کاملPrevalence of Vancomycin Resistance in Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus
Background & Aims: Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common pathogens in nosocomial infections. Vancomycin is the most important therapeutic drug of choice for treatment of infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. Therefore, vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) or vancomycin-intermediate Staphylococcus aureus (VISA) strains are warning...
